The Brazillian national team has showcased some of the most talented football players to play the game, and they have led the nation to footballing glory, but who are the top 5 players with the most Brazil international goals?

The actual list of players includes some megastars of world football, including World Cup and Copa America winners as well as a man that is regarded by many as the greatest to ever play the beautiful game.

There are some absolute legends of the game that didn't get into the top 5 list, including Bebeto, Rivaldo, Jairzinho and Ronaldinho, so it just shows how incredible a feat these players have been able to accomplish!

5) Zico - 48 goals

During the 1970s, Zico was a crucial part of the Brazil squad, scoring the majority of his goals in international friendlies.

However, his greatest performance came in the 1982 World Cup where he grabbed seven goal contributions which included four goals and three assists.

Zico was a legend of the game and compete in three World Cups and featured in Copa America.

4) Romario - 55 goals

Romario is one of the most influential in a long list of incredible Brazillian strikers, with the forward having an incredible goalscoring record internationally and for clubs in leagues like the Eredivisie and La Liga.

Romario's first dominant tournament came in the 1988 Olympic Games, where he scored seven goals in six games. However, his first bit of international success came in the 1989 Copa America, where his three goals in the group stages helped them to victory.

Romario's next piece of silverware with Brazil came in the 1994 World Cup, where he had seven goal contributions including five goals. He would get further international success with a Copa America win in 1996/97 and the Confederations Cup in 1997.

3) Ronaldo - 62 goals

Ronaldo is one of the greatest and most dangerous forwards of all time. His consistency in front of goal granted him the name "El Fenomeno", scoring 204 goals in 296 games at club level.

The forwards club form and transferred to the international stage as he is one of the most prolific goalscorers on the World Cup stage, having 20 goal contributions in 19 games.

Ronaldo was essential in Brazil's back-to-back Copa America wins in 1997 and 1999, as well as the Confederations Cup in 1997.

His first taste of World Cup glory came in 2002, where his eight goals saw Brazil lift the World Cup with a brace coming in a 2-0 win against Germany in the final.


2) Neymar - 77 goals

Neymar took the football scene by storm, establishing himself as one of the best players of the modern era after gaining attraction at boyhood club Santos in his early years.

The forward made his debut for Brazil at 18 years old, and it didn't take long for him to find his first goal as he scored in a 2-0 friendly win against the USA.

Brazil's Confederations Cup win in 2013 saw Neymar run the show as he scored four goals, including one in the final against Spain during a 3-0 win.

Neymar has been a regular feature for the Brazil team and is the first name on the team sheet. However, the closest he came to lifting the World Cup was in 2018, when they reached the quarter-finals.

Arguably the greatest footballer to ever live, Pele set countless records during his incredible career for club and country.

The forward was worshipped by football fans for his goalscoring ability and elegance on the ball. Pele is one of the most successful international players of all time, being a part of three World Cup-winning campaigns with Brazil.

His first win came in 1958 during his first World Cup appearance, scoring six tournament goals, including a brace against Sweden in a 6-2 win in the final.

Pele's second World Cup medal came in the 1962 World Cup, where he only made one appearance, grabbing a goal and an assist in a 2-0 win in Group 3 against Mexico.

The third win came twelve years later in the 1970 World Cup, where Pele was pivotal once again, tallying four goals and three assists. Three of his seven-goal involvements came in the Final during a 4-1 win against Italy.

With 77 goals to his name, Pele ranks as the top goalscorer in the history of the Brazilian national team!
